Greets Green Partnership
Greets Green Partnership is moving into the final phase of delivering its ambitious 10-year programme of social and economic regeneration in the Greets Green area of West Bromwich as part of the New Deal for Communities programme.
Housing and Urban Form has been one of the key elements of their programme, which seeks to make real and lasting change.
Their focus is on promoting higher standards of housing in Greets Green and forming the partnerships that will see the process of transformational change continue beyond the lifespan of their programme. To achieve this Greets Green Partnership has formed close working partnerships with Sandwell Council, Urban Living, Sandwell Homes and RegenCo.
However, their work to create a better Greets Green is not just about housing standards. Work has also begun on plans for The ‘Rec on Claypit Lane – the largest open space in Greets Green – to get a new lease of life based on residents’ visions for a new community park. This is a typical example of the community involvement, which is a key part of the Partnership’s work to deliver change in Greets Green. Residents have been influencing work right from the start and will continue to be involved throughout the lifespan of the programme.
