North Smethwick Canalside – Rolfe Street

Embracing a substantial area north and south of Birmingham’s canal network, North Smethwick Canalside is one of RegenCo’s most ambitious projects. It re-establishes Smethwick’s canals at the heart of the region, delivering canalside living together with recreation and leisure facilities and an environment for enterprise and employment, Rolfe Street is located close to the city of Birmingham and has excellent transport links, Rolfe Street Station, (West Coast Mainline), Metro Station and Tollhouse Way A447 puts Rolfe Street in an enviable strategic location.

Rolfe Street will play a key role in reviving the area’s rich heritage through the introduction of new employment, commercial and enterprise space.  It is also proposed to open up the area to leisure and tourism uses by capitalising on the canalside setting and key landmarks within the area.

Rolfe Street will link to Brindley village II to the north of the canal creating a cosmopolitan live-work environment bringing together new homes, leisure, retail and enterprise with high quality public realm.

RegenCo is working closely with English Partnerships, Urban Living and SMBC to deliver this scheme.
