Private developers set to back the Greets Green Housing Plan

The key partners responsible for the delivery of the Greets Green Housing Plan (Sandwell Council, Greets Green Partnership, Urban Living, RegenCo and Sandwell Homes) are inviting private developers to find out about the exciting opportunities that will be coming up in the area as the physical regeneration of Greets Green gathers momentum.

Greets Green Partnership's Executive Director Ally Allerson explains: "This is about putting the final piece of the jigsaw together. "We have an excellent team of partners, who have already achieved a great deal for Greets Green.

"We are now at the point where we need to bring on board private developers who have the capacity and track record to help us to bring high quality, well designed, affordable new homes to Greets Green that will give the community the range of housing options that are needed to create a sustainable future for Greets Green."

Jessica Ferguson, local resident and Chair of the Greets Green Housing Forum, adds: "It's time for change in Greets Green. A lot of people of people have worked very hard to get us to this point, so to be talking to private developers is very exciting."

The 'Greets Green Is Changing' event will take place at The Hawthorns Football Ground on Thursday 29th June, when an interactive Developers Pack will be launched, with speeches from all the key partners followed by a tour of the area for guests to see the full scope of the opportunities that Greets Green and the wider redevelopment of West Bromwich has on offer.

Rod Griffin, Urban Living Acting Co-ordinator, comments: "This is a fantastic opportunity for developers to find out about, and see for themselves, the range of development opportunities that exist in Greets Green. "It is important that developers do seize on these opportunities and invest in the area."

Cllr Bob Badham, Sandwell's Cabinet member for regeneration and transport, says: "This is a very exciting stage in the re-development of Greets Green.

"I look forward with confidence to the future of housing in the area."

An OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) notice has been used to market this opportunity. For more information, please contact John Harden, Planning Development Manager, Sandwell MBC 0121 569 4080.

The event also marked the launch of the ‘Greets Green Is Changing’ DVD which highlights some of the exciting development opportunities that will be coming up in Greets Green and explains how the partners involved in the Greets Green housing plan have combined to get the transformation of Greets Green underway.
