People will be given the chance to have a say on the multi-million pound extensions to a West Bromwich shopping centre, which is to bring new shops, homes and services to the town.
Developers The Halladale Group are to put on a public exhibition in Queen's Square to give people an idea of what the huge development will mean to the town and its shoppers. The company will have consultations on the proposals, which includes massive improvements to the centre, at the three-day exhibition, which will run between 23-25.
Halladale spokesman Allan Lockhart said the company was "very excited" by the proposals and were anxious to consult the public.
"Everyone knows Queen's Square is deteriorating and is in desperate need of a complete facelift," he said.
"Our exciting new plans to extend and refurbish the shopping centre will provide West Bromwich town centre the boost that everyone wants."
"A new name will also be given to the shopping centre to mark and we look forward to hearing what the local community think the name should be, he added".
Positive
Mr Lockhart said the proposals followed the positive lead given the regeneration of West Bromwich Town Centre by Sandwell Council and RegenCo.
"West Bromwich Town Centre has an exciting future and the new Queen's Square will complement the proposed new Tesco development, as well as blending in well with The Public," he said.
"We are keen to hear the views of town centre shoppers, local residents and businesses on our proposals and the public exhibition will be the ideal opportunity for everyone to have their say."
"Residents and shoppers can also view the proposals and send in their comments via our website, www.newqueensquare.com" he added.
The company revealed earlier this week they were planning to build 23 new shops.
