Councillor is chosen to join project team radar

A top Midlands businessman has welcomed a councillor onto the board of the RegenCo project – and said he had been chosen because he gets things done.

Sandwell Councillor Bob Badham has joined the team. Tom Fanning, chairman of RegenCo and chief executive of Midland Expressway which owns and operates the M6 toll, said he was pleased that Councillor Badham was behind the project.

“Its great to have Bob on board, not just for his local knowledge and contacts but because he’s a doer and gifted at making things happen” he said. “People can see he means business as we do”

Councillor Badham will work with the RegenCo on plans to re-develop part of Smethwick and West Bromwich including the Hill Top area of Wednesbury.

“I see my role as cementing RegenCo’s work with whats already going on around the borough as well as perhaps emphasising what people really want” said Councillor Badham.

"I’m always getting feedback from our customers and being on the board will ensure it’s channelled to RegenCo in a more formal fashion than it is now".

“I reckon it’s critical we get Hill Top moving” replied Badham when asked for his priorities with RegenCo. “The area’s been neglected for some time. Hill Top’s got tremendous opportunities to create jobs”.
